Tupac Shakur is one of a few iconic legends that, despite him dying, seems to never be able to properly die.
Like Elvis and the Notorious B.I.G, 2Pac is constantly a source of rumours that he is alive and well and managing to exist without anyone realising. Look, the world is a big place but come on, you can’t slot back into normality like that.
But that isn’t stopping Suge Knight’s son from claiming Tupac is alive and is even working on new music.
Suge Knight Jr posted on Instagram that he ‘got Pac back in the studio’ and that banging new tracks were on the way. Now, while that could be a thinly veiled attempt at saying he was releasing unheard tracks produced when Pac was alive, it certainly seems like Jr is serious that Shakur is busting out some new lyrics.
He also put out a second post asking for ‘the hottest producer’ to help bring this music to everyone’s ears.
This certainly isn’t the first time Mr Knight Jr has claimed that Tupac is alive and well.
In October last year, he wrote on the social media site that Pac was living in Malaysia and his murder in 1996 was a hoax.
He simply posted the provocative message ‘Tupac is alive’, and received a high rate of replies – as you would. One person wrote: “You said [too] much. Time for you to go.”
To which Knight replied: “The truth will be out and I’m not going anywhere.”
He continued to post on the subject, sharing supposedly ‘recent’ pictures of Tupac alongside the likes of Beyoncé and 50 Cent. Well, if that doesn’t prove it then nothing ever will: either Tupac is alive or Photoshop exists, that’s for sure.
After illustrating his point, Knight shored up his argument with lots of obscure and conspiratorial Illuminati references, just for good measure.
One post read: “Beware of fake accounts. Their job is to distract you. The Illuminati are all about power. This is why you see powerful names get locked up.”
Another read: “I’m safe and just know it was self defense. #killuminati”
Around the same time this was playing out, Cubans were saying they had spotted him in Old Havana. Surely they would have told someone about that if they did.
It’s unlikely rumours about Tupac being alive will ever die down until enough years have passed that he would have died by natural causes. Even then people will say they just saw him walking down the street.
