Thiago demands £200,000-a-week to make Liverpool move

icfootballnews: Thiago to demand £200,000-a-week, Salah to be next big superstar claim and fans told when Thiago move will be made in Liverpool roundup…

Thiago would ask for more than £200,000-a-week to join Liverpool, reports have come out and claimed.

After news broke just a few weeks ago revealing that Thiago now wants to leave Bayern this transfer window and make that move to the Premier League, Liverpool have been made favourites to wrap up a transfer deal.

Bayern are reportedly holding out for a €30 million (£27m/$36m) fee for a prized asset, although there has been reports in the media that Liverpool are more keen to wait and get a deal done for a fee of around £20 million.

But ESPN report that The Spaniard would become Liverpool’s highest earning player, with the National reporting that the Reds top earner, Mohamed Salah, is on £200,000-a-week.

Jamie Redknapp thinks Thiago would be a valuable addition to the current Liverpool squad, as he would add a bit of finesses to the side.

“We’ve often spoken about how good Liverpool’s midfield are, how hard-working they are, but sometimes they maybe lack that bit of finesse and that little bit of quality,” the former Reds star told Sky Sports.

“Thiago would give them something completely different, he’s one of the best midfield players in the world. He dictates the play, plays at his own pace.

“Sometimes, especially when you go to tough places in the Premier League, you cannot beat teams by going 100 mph all the time, you need a little bit of finesse and for someone to do things differently.

“Many years ago Liverpool had midfield players like Ronnie Whelan and Jan Molby who could just slow the game down and play at a tempo that suited them, Thiago could do that.

“We saw him in the Champions League final where he completely bossed the game, had so many touches of the ball and made the game look easy.”

Mohamed Salah has reached another level at Liverpool and could be the game’s next superstar, claims Manchester United great Gary Neville.

Salah fired a hat-trick against Leeds on the opening day of the new Premier League season to take his tally to 97 goals in 154 appearances for Liverpool as he looks to get the Reds another Premier League and Champions League title.

And according to Neville, who has been stunned by the consistency and hunger for goals Salah has shown since moving to Anfield from Roma in 2016, he could be the game’s next superstar

“There was a point in the game where I was watching Salah and I just thought, that is some player,” Neville said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

“Four years ago, when he first came to Liverpool and he got those 40-odd goals, I thought, ‘That’s a freak. He won’t be able to live with that’. But then he consistently produces over a period of two or three years.”

“[Kylian] Mbappe, he’s fantastic. Neymar, he’s a bit up and down a bit… Where is the best player in the world going to be in the next couple of years? Salah is not far away from it anyway, but to me on Saturday he looked like an absolutely different level.”

“You think about the mentality difference between Mane and Salah,” Neville added.

“Mane is likeable. I think the players probably love him, he gives his all every single day, he’ll do the selfless thing for the team.

“Then you look at Salah over the other side. He doesn’t pass sometimes to his team-mates. He’s a little bit more selfish and a little bit less likeable because of that, probably to the fans and to his own team-mates.

“But then, I look at him as an outsider and I’m thinking that he is an absolute killer on the pitch.”

Liverpool will wait until the final week of the transfer window to make an official move for Thiago Alcantara.

The Reds are understood to be favourites to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder after it was revealed just a few weeks ago that he wants to leave Bayern Munich and seek a fesh challenge in the Premier League.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the midfielder, with reports suggesting that the giants have made contact with the 29-year-old agent, but signing another midfield player is not longer on their list of priorities following the arrival of Donny Van de Beek.

And according to talkSPORT’s transfer guru Alex Crook, Liverpool will not be making a move to sign Thiago until the very last week of the transfer window: “We’ve spoken a lot about this one, and it’s going to go right to the wire, I think,” said Crook.

“If Wijnaldum goes I think Liverpool will accelerate their interest.

“I know Manchester United have spoken to Thiago’s agent but midfield is not a priority for them at the moment.

“Liverpool are still the front runners, but they’re trying to force Bayern Munich to lower that €30m asking price.

“I’m not expecting a bid to come in probably until the final week of the window.”

Liverpool will be waiting to get Thiago for a fee cheaper than what Bayern want, and although fans want the deal to happen now, it would be a very smart move to make knowing that Thiago is set on a move to Anfield.

But there are many clubs interested and if Liverpool are playing that game, then they are giving clubs an opportunity to wrap up some kind of deal.
