This is not something new as Real Madrid have always been interested in Neymar. According to Duncan Castles, the Galacticos are very serious about his acquisition.
He believes that the Merengues are willing to pay over the odds in transfer fees and are also keen to give him a raise in pay from the €30 million-per-year that he makes at PSG right now.
“Madrid, I’m told, are extremely serious about making this happen at the end of the season,” he said.
“They’re prepared to put down the money required in terms of the transfer fee – which will obviously be substantial for a player who cost €222m just to activate the release clause from Barcelona less than two years ago.
“And wages, he’s on €30m net basic at Paris and I would expect an increase on that.”
Sergio Ramos is the captain of Real Madrid and isn’t shy of speaking his mind out. According to reports in Spain, the Real Madrid and Spain captain has made some transfer suggestions to Perez.
He prefers Harry Kane, Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe (valued at £75 million, £80 million and £71 million, respectively) for Madrid’s attack but doesn’t want the signing of Neymar. His shortlist for defense and midfield has Eder Militao, Mario Hermoso, Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen and Saul.
Eder Militao was supposed to join Madrid in the January transfer market but some minute details postponed the deal. However, according to Marca, the deal is now very close to completion.
The report claims that the only thing remaining for the deal to be complete is a signature from the player itself. The Galacticos are set to activate his release clause of €50 million.
