Real Madrid are eyeing a mammoth move for a centre-back while Manchester United are closing on a defender of their own.
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a huge offer for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
Italian publication Il Mattino report the La Liga giants are ready to dole out a whopping £90m (A$160m) for the 27-year-old who has emerged as one of Europe’s best defenders.
Koulibaly is thought to have been a Manchester United target for a number of months, with Jose Mourinho keen to make him the solution to the Red Devils’ defensive problems. But with the Special One sacked, the door is open for Los Blancos to swoop in and sign the big man.
Real are struggling this season, sitting 10 points off league leaders and fierce rivals Barcelona, and the signing of Koulibaly would no doubt boost their fortunes.
