The Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho has been the hot cake on transfer link with a move away from Barcelona. Paris Saint German has now reportedly made him
one of their top targets as they tend to revenge on missing out on Frenkie De Jong.
Reports in Spain suggest the the French side are furious they missed out on Frenkie De Jong after the Dutchman opted to join Barcelona, with rumours sporting director Antero Henrique could face the sack as a result.
It has added to tension between the two clubs after PSG snatched Neymar from the Catalan club for a huge fee in 2017 – and they’re now ready to retaliate with an effort to sign Coutinho.
According to RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo , PSG are ready to enter a “commercial war” with Barcelona and view Coutinho as a major piece to the puzzle.
The Brazilian has struggled to make a major impact at Barcelona, but he still has a contract until 2023 and a €400m release clause which would ensure he commands a massive fee.
If Premier League clubs such as Manchester United are interested in Coutinho, they may struggle to compete with the financial clout of the Qatari-owned Parisians.
But the relationship between the two clubs means Barcelona would likely prefer not to let Coutinho head to France if they do decide to cut their losses and move him on.
