talksport: Paul Pogba has endured an injury-hit season with the Manchester United midfielder making only eight appearances in all competitions.
However, it appears he is finally on the comeback trail with a return to the pitch pencilled in for as soon as next month.
The France international has spent the majority of his recovery period in Dubai but was not included in the Manchester United travelling squad for their winter break training camp.
According to the Daily Mail he hopes to return to outdoor training at Carrington within the next two weeks, setting him up for his first appearance of 2020 in March.
It is understood Pogba could even make his playing comeback in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on March 8, with the France ace then ready to play his part in the run-in as United battle to finish in the top four.
A trip to Spurs is scheduled for the week after Man City’s visit, with matches against Sheffield United, Brighton, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Leicester finishing the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side also remain in both the FA Cup and Europa League and Pogba could influence United’s run in those competitions too.
Whether he remains at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season remains to be seen, however.
Pogba’s injury-hit season has been filled with speculation over his future, with Real Madrid and Juventus said to be keen on signing him this summer.
The midfielder has even reportedly told his Man United teammates he WANTS a transfer at the end of the season – and they agree he should leave for the good of the club.
