Manchester United are going to turn into Everton

express: Manchester United risk falling from grace permanently, and could end up at a similar level to Everton, according to former Chelsea star Jason Cundy.

United are in the middle of a major rebuild, but have struggled to progress since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was named the permanent manager.

They haven’t won an away match since he was installed at the helm, and are currently 10th in the Premier League table.

Fans should consider at United in a different way from what they used to, claimed Cundy.

“I think we need to look at Manchester United in a completely different way now,” he said on talkSPORT.

“Manchester United are going to turn into Everton.

“You’ve had the financial muscle to wrestle yourself out.

“I’m not even sure the Glazers are prepared to do that anymore.”

“I think it’s smacking us all in the face.

“I’m actually quite shocked about where Manchester United are, and United fans must be absolutely stunned. This is worse than what happened to Liverpool.”

Everton have finished in the top four once since the beginning of the Premier League, and have finished fifth on three occasions.

Most recently, Everton have finished eighth, eighth, seventh and eleventh.

Meanwhile, Cundy also predicted that Solskjaer would be sacked at United before the next transfer window.

He thinks there could be a new boss at Old Trafford by January 1, but insisted that it wouldn’t be Solskjaer’s fault.

United now face a trip to Newcastle United, as they look for their first away win since March.

A win for the Magpies would see then climb to within just a single point of Solskjaer’s team.
