dailystar: Manchester United have reacted positively to Juventus’ hopes of swapping Adrien Rabiot for Paul Pogba.
However, the Old Lady value their midfielder a lot higher than what the Red Devils believe he is worth.
Pogba’s time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end this season after years of reported interest from further afield.
The Frenchman said he was open to leaving United last summer after admitting he was keen on a new challenge with the likes of Real Madrid and Juve interested.
His agent, Mino Raiola, has also fallen out with key officials at Old Trafford, paving the way for a departure.
Earlier this year, he declared that United “would ruin Pele”.
He also vowed never to send any players he represented there again.
Amid the coronavirus crisis, finances at clubs around the world are in an uncertain way and more swap deals have been mooted for the transfer window.
One of them includes Rabiot, who has failed to make much of an impression in Turin but has caught the attention of United officials.
And according to Calcio Mercato, the Red Devils are keen on taking the midfielder on.
However, Juventus value Rabiot at £27m – but that does not sit well with United.
It means that the Italian champions would have to spend more on Pogba to get a swap deal through the door with both clubs on a collision course.
Meanwhile, United legend Rio Ferdinand has insisted Pogba should open up on his future and not allow Raiola to talk over him.
He told The Beautiful Game: “I’m honest about Paul and I love Paul, because he’s a great kid.
“I’ve known him since he was a young boy and I still chat to him now.
“But the only problem I have with Paul is he should chat, instead of his agent chatting.
“If he did that there would be more clarity on the whole situation.
“I spoke to him about all that type of stuff but Paul’s his own man and he’s going to deal with it his own way, I respect that, that’s fine. So that’s the only thing I’d say.”
