dailystar: Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid and could even offer Paul Pogba in a potential deal.
Rodriguez has struggled since joining Real and spent the last two seasons on loan at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
They turned down the chance to sign the Colombian permanently with Rodriguez returning to the Bernabeu last summer.
He has struggled with injuries since being back in the Spanish capital, making just seven La Liga appearances this season with the last of those back in October.
It’s been a similar story for Pogba at Old Trafford with the World Cup winner having not featured since the turn of the year.
It comes with the Frenchman having been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford with Real Madrid believed to be interested in the midfielder.
And Spanish outlet AS claim that United are interested in Rodriguez and could use Pogba in any potential deal.
United have been demanding in excess of £150m for Pogba recently though Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that the coronavirus pandemic could change the market.
He told Sky Sports: “Then, the market, who knows how the market is going to react to this? Who knows which clubs need to sell players?
“There might be just a situation there where you can exploit, and I know that we at Man United we are one of the biggest, and the biggest, financially well-off.
“I’m sure we are capable, when we get back to normality, that we can do the business that we want to.
“Paul [Pogba] and Marcus [Rashford] have been out [injured], now we’ve still got games left, and I think everyone in the league will start more or less on the same level.
“Maybe they’ve got more motivation to keep going now, as they can see when they’re back they may be on the same level or even a better level physically.
“In a way, they have got an opportunity here to play a bigger part in this season than they had hoped. And they are big players for us, some of the most important players.”
