ibtimes: Luis Suarez thinks the coaches were to blame for Barcelona’s draw against Celta Vigo, but some fans believe it’s the fault of another player.
Real Madrid became the favorites to win the 2019-20 LaLiga title after Barcelona dropped points away in a 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo Saturday (June 27). After the match, Barca striker Suarez spoke to the media to defend the team and took aim at the coaching staff.
Suarez scored both goals for the Catalans, but a thrilling free kick from Iago Aspas equaled his impressive brace. Ultimately, Barcelona has had a poor away record this season, but according to the Uruguayan, it is the coaches’ job to fix what’s wrong as the players are already giving it all they have got.
“What’s wrong with us? That’s what coaches are for, to analyse the situations. We gave everything on the field of play and you are left with the feeling that we are dropping lots of points away from home which we did not drop other seasons,” Suarez told Movistar LaLiga (via Besoccer.com).
“The feeling is negative, we have dropped two more than important points. If we want to keep up there in the fight for the title, we had to win all the games and hope Real Madrid dropped points once. You’re left with a feeling of frustration,” he continued.
Devastated with how things have been going on in the dressing room, Suarez called for the team to regroup and try to figure out how to win the remaining crucial matches of the season.
“We have difficult games left. We knew this would be one of our most difficult away games together with the Villarreal one and we’ve got Atletico Madrid at home. We dropped two points and you have to correct things to try and improve,” Suarez pointed out.
Fans believe that Barcelona could have ended the match with a 2-1 victory. The second goal from Aspas changed the story, and based on the fans’ point of view, it was Antoine Griezmann who let that happen.
Give Me Sport compiled a series of comments from social media slamming the Frenchman for turning his back at the end of the wall.
“Griezmann ups his stakes for Real Madrid player of the year,” one fan said.
Shocking Griezmann. Pulled out of the wall. Utter disaster.

As for Griezmann, you had one job… makes me think that he intentionally sold the match to Aspas. How will him turning to his side help defend a free kick that is either going over the wall or swerving to his side? I need answers.

Griezmann didn’t want Iago Aspas to mess up his hair and make up and that might cost Barcelona the title.

It can be recalled that as Aspas struck the ball with his left foot, Griezmann jumped and turned his back apparently resulting to the ball subsequently finding a way into the bottom corner of the net. Many believed that had Griezmann decided not to turn his back, Barcelona could have sealed the win with a one goal advantage.
