Jurgen Klopp could leave Liverpool to join Barcelona or Real Madrid

express: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has completely turned around the club’s fortunes to put them back on the top of world football but Reds legend Emile Heskey thinks two clubs could turn the manager’s head.

Klopp has remarkably guided Liverpool to Champions League and Club World Cup glory over the last 12 months.

The Merseysiders are also on course to win the first English top-flight league title in 30 years.

A 25-point gap has been opened at the top of the Premier League table and Klopp’s side need two wins from the remaining nine matches to wrap up the title.

However, Heskey thinks the pull of La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, should they decide the make changes at the helm, could be attractive to Klopp.

“There is always an option that Klopp could leave to join a club like Real Madrid or Barcelona,” Heskey told GentingBet.

“But I don’t think that Klopp is finished with the project that he has started at Liverpool.

“They are moving into a new training facility, they are really getting to where they feel that they can be when it comes to being recognised as an international brand as a football club.

“Klopp has really put them on the map there. I think Klopp still feels like he has a lot to do.

“So, I don’t think the fans will be overly worried about Klopp leaving.”

Klopp signed a contract extension with Liverpool in December which will keep him at Anfield until 2024.

And last summer the German admitted he may take some time off once his Liverpool project draws to a close.

“It looks like it,” he told Kicker. “Who can now say if he can give it his all in three years’ time?

“If I decide for myself that I can’t go on any more, I’ll take a break and in that year I’d have to make a definite decision [over my career].

“I have absolute energy, but I have one problem; I can’t do ‘a little bit’. I can only do ‘all or nothing’.

“But the chances are very high that my energy levels will go up again [after a year’s break], and that I can then do the job the way I want to.”
