weaintgotnohistory: As per a report from Fabrizio Romano (for Calciomercato), Inter Milan will seek a discount from Chelsea for a certain Victor Moses, should they decide to acquire the loanee on a permanent basis in the summer. The loan contract already includes a buyout set at around €10m, but Inter wouldn’t be Inter if they didn’t at least try for a discount.
Inter (and the Serie A in general) were once the richest in Europe, but those days are long gone. Value-for-money deals have become the norm — especially with FFP breathing down on them — even for the powerhouses of the league. (In addition to Moses, Inter are also keeping an eye out for potential bargains on Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso as well, for example).
In fairness, Moses hasn’t yet established himself as a starter for Conte this time around, though he has made appearances in three of their last four games (one start). However, no selling club should want to sell a player for less than his market value.
Ultimately, Inter’s decision will be determined by Moses’s performances between now and the end of the season, as will Chelsea’s stance on the matter. The 29-year-old winger/wing-back will have one more year left on his Chelsea contract at the end of the season.
