independent: A Florida father has been arrested after allegedly bringing a loaded AK-47 to a school because his son FaceTimed him crying and claiming that a teacher had pushed him.

Police say Christopher Freeman, 27, turned up at Bear Lakes Middle School in West Palm Beach and started making death threats towards teachers whilst demanding to speak to his son.

A school resource officer alerted law enforcement after seeing what he thought was a large handgun sticking out of Mr Freeman’s trousers when he arrived at the school’s main entrance.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office’s report, Mr Freeman was “visibly upset” and was screaming: “You’re going to need more than what you got because of what I got’“.

”He also said ‘I want to see the guy who slammed my son. I’ve got something for him.’“.

Officers placed the school on lockdown while they searched Freeman and found a loaded Romarm/Cugir AK-47 Mini Draco pistol.

He said he carries the firearm with him all the time for protection and had forgotten he had it with him.

Mr Freeman was charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, aggravated assault with a weapon and disrupting the peace.

He was being held on a $75,000 (£56,950) bond.

His lawyer Jack Fleischman described the incident as a “misunderstanding” and insisted his client had no intention of harming anyone. Mr Freeman told police that he saw an adult grab his son before the call ended.

He told ABC News: ”We’re interested in seeing if there is any security video from school because there were allegations about his child being hit.“
