Barcelona star Suarez has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal so far this transfer window.
The midfielder has struggled for the Catalan giants and was absent from the squad for their La Liga showdown with Getafe on Sunday.
Recent reports claim Barcelona have pulled the plug on Suarez’s move to Arsenal.
Yet journalist Edu Polo, who works for Mundo Deportivo, says Arsenal told Barcelona they were only open to a loan deal. And that is because they do not have the funds to sign Suarez permanently.
One reason Arsenal want Suarez so badly is because of his good relationship with Unai Emery. Emery managed the Spaniard during their time at Sevilla together. And, speaking in 2015, Suarez lauded the Arsenal boss. The Barcelona star said: “He is one of the best coaches around. He really gets the best out of us.
“He considers each and every one of his players and always puts those who are in the best possible shape in his starting line-up.
“I have been playing for him for a year and I am really happy.
“He always talks to you, both in good moments – to prevent you being distracted – and bad, to help you recover. The way he treats players is exceptional.”
Should Suarez end up signing for Arsenal from Barcelona, it could impact the future of Aaron Ramsey. Ramsey is expected to leave the club as a free agent in the summer. But Juventus could even poach the Wales midfielder earlier than expected for a cut-price fee this winter.
